NUMBER DRAWLEDGER
INSTRUMENT 01 / INTEGER DRAW

Random Number Generator

Generate a random number within a range, create multiple results, or draw unique numbers without repeats.

Draw Results

Each draw records sequence, values, range, unique mode, and local time. Sorting changes this list only, not the stored history.

DRAW / 02

Pick Numbers Without Repeats

Each number can appear only once within the same draw. Separate draws may repeat values.

RANGE / 03

Common Number Ranges

Use Range writes these bounds into the main generator. It does not draw a number until you ask.

1 to 10Small classroom votes and quick choices.
1 to 20Short numbered lists and practice sets.
1 to 50Medium catalogs and seating charts.
1 to 100The default random number generator 1 to 100 range.
1 to 500Larger item pools without leaving the integer desk.
1 to 1,000Wide indexes when you still want a single integer.
0 to 9Single digits, including zero.
-10 to 10Signed integers around zero.

Roll Virtual Dice

Independent rolls using the same unbiased integer helper as the number generator. Notation such as 3d6 means three six-sided dice.

Total —

Waiting for a roll.

Heads or Tails?

Each flip is an independent draw with two eligible outcomes. Previous flips do not change the next probability.

Pick From Your Own List

One item per line. Empty lines are ignored. Matching lines are treated as duplicates when Without Repeats is on, using exact text after trimming spaces. Entries are shown as plain text and are never run as HTML. Lists are not saved.

A Small Guide to Random Selection

What Is a Random Number?

Here it means an integer chosen from a stated range without deliberately favoring one eligible value. The generator does not “feel” that a number is overdue. It draws from the current range using the browser’s cryptographic random source and rejection sampling so each eligible integer is designed to be equally likely.

Inclusive Number Ranges

Minimum and maximum both count. The range 1–5 contains five integers: 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5. A draw from 1 to 100 can return 1 and can return 100. Zero and negative integers are allowed when you type them.

Random Numbers Without Repeats

Unique mode samples without replacement inside one draw. Asking for five distinct values from 1–20 is like drawing five slips from a bowl of twenty and not putting them back until the draw ends. The next Generate click is a new bowl.

Independent Events

A fair coin flip does not remember the last ten flips. Five heads in a row does not make tails “due.” Each new flip, die, or independent integer is a separate event with the same eligible set as before, unless you change the settings.

Probability of a Single Outcome

For a uniform draw over N eligible integers, each individual value has probability 1/N. From 1 to 100, N is 100, so any one integer such as 37 has probability 1/100 on a single draw that allows repeats.

Pseudorandom Numbers

Physical processes such as tossed dice are messy in the real world. Computers instead generate sequences that behave randomly for ordinary use. This site uses crypto.getRandomValues(), not Math.random(), and still is not a certified device for regulated drawings or security-critical selection.

Everyday Ways to Use Random Selection

Choosing a classroom activity

Number the activities 1–8 and use the generator, or type names into the list picker. Unique mode helps if you want a sequence without repeating an activity in the same round. It does not grade the activity.

Assigning presentation order

Paste names, one per line, enable Without Repeats, and pick the whole group. Identical spellings collapse to one entry. Confirm the roster before you treat the order as final.

Selecting a practice question

Set minimum 1 and maximum to the last question number. Generate one integer. If the book skips numbers, the integer still assumes every index exists.

Picking a reading prompt

Use the list picker for prompts that are sentences, not numbers. Keep each line under 80 characters. The tool will not interpret markdown or HTML.

Organizing casual team exercises

Roll dice for a light scoring mechanic, or draw unique numbers for station assignments. These are informal tools, not tournament equipment.

Choosing a household task

List chores and pick one. Unique mode is useful for a weekly rotation in a single draw. It will not track what you did last week unless you keep that list yourself.

Making a neutral choice between options

Two options can be a coin flip. Three or more belong in the list picker so each distinct line has equal weight. Do not use this for financial or legal decisions that need a documented official process.

Testing a simple game mechanic

Use dice notation such as 2d6 and compare totals. Some sums appear more often than others because more ordered pairs produce them. See the dice guide for the 36-outcome explanation.

About and Contact

Number Draw Ledger is a free collection of browser-based random selection tools with short guides on ranges and probability. It is not a gambling service and does not run official regulated drawings.
